Getting Started

Accessing Account Management

  1. Log in to Carbon GPT with administrator credentials
  2. Navigate to Admin > Account Management in the main navigation
  3. Select the specific management area you want to configure

Initial Account Setup

For new accounts, we recommend this setup sequence:

  1. Configure your organization settings
  2. Set up your organizational structure
  3. Create initial admin users

Managing Users

Adding New Users

  1. Navigate to User Management
  2. Click Add User
  3. Enter the user's email address and basic information
  4. Select the appropriate role and permissions
  5. Assign the user to relevant teams
  6. Send invitation email

User Roles and Permissions

Carbon GPT offers several predefined roles:

  • System Administrator: Full system access and configuration rights
  • Account Administrator: User and team management without system configuration
  • Report Administrator: Can create and manage all reports and templates
  • Data Manager: Can input and manage emissions data
  • Analyst: Can view and analyze data but not modify it
  • Viewer: Read-only access to specified areas

Custom roles can be created with specific permission sets.

User Deactivation and Removal

When a user leaves your organization:

  1. Navigate to the user's profile
  2. Select Deactivate Account to temporarily suspend access
  3. Or select Remove User to permanently remove them
  4. Choose whether to reassign their content to another user
  5. Confirm the action

Managing Teams

Creating Teams

  1. Navigate to Team Management
  2. Click Create Team
  3. Enter team name and description
  4. Define team hierarchy (parent team if applicable)
  5. Set team-level permissions
  6. Add users to the team
